Connections
Early music and traditional song from three faiths

In today's unsettled world, it feels important to look at what we have in common rather than what divides us, so we have brought together a team of singers and musicians from three faiths to create an intercultural conversation.
concert performance
The programme is a fusion of Jewish, Christian and Moslem sacred songs on themes of distress, deliverance, praise, and togetherness; showing how music has been shared over the centuries, and mixing 17th Century music, with Moroccan Sufi chant, Ottoman and Yiddish settings of Calvinist and Lutheran hymns, a pizmon from Aleppo, music from Taize, and popular Hebrew songs.

Includes music by Salamone Rossi, Claude Goudimel, Thomas Campion and Ali Ufki.

We first played this programme in London, Oxford and Cambridge in May 2026, and are planning more concerts in 2027.

Inspired by the Anglo-Moroccan intercultural project From Shore to Shore, and supported by the McLaren Foundation.

Audience Reviews

concert performance

“a thing of real beauty. In a Christian church... Jewish, Christian and Muslim voices... singing and playing together for an evening of peace and respect. It was joyous and it was easy. Just shows what can be done when we leave our prejudices behind.”

“It was a phenomenal concert... to see all the abrahamic faiths come together, especially with the current state of the world... was truly special... . Music truly is the best way to celebrate the similarities and highlight the wonderful differences which make this a humanity worth protecting.”
